Selangor to acquire private land in Jalan Tanjung

To be acquired: Half of Jalan Tanjung is currently closed to traffic following the tussle between developers and residents of Bandar Utama and Tropicana last year.

SELANGOR will proceed with the acquisition of the private land in Jalan Tanjung following the Shah Alam High Court’s dismissal of Bandar Utama City Corporation (BUCC) and Bandar Utama Technology Park’s application for leave for a judicial review recently.

“Now that the court has ruled, we will proceed with the takeover,” said Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

“We had instructed the Petaling Jaya City Council to go on with preparations for an open tender for a road-upgrading project to save time if the court ruled in the state’s favour,” he said.

It was the state’s decision to take over the stretch of land and upgrade the road from two to three lanes to enable two-way traffic following a tussle between residents and developers of Bandar Utama and Tropicana last year.

Developers of surrounding projects had been roped in to contribute to the road project.

The acquisition was put on hold when Bandar Utama filed an application for judicial review against the state’s order. Jalan Tanjung was only open for one-way traffic from Tropicana to Bandar Utama since last year.

Professional Level The Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design – Professional Level (MFA-1) program is formulated to provide students, possessing a baccalaureate degree in an unrelated field, with an advanced degree containing the professional-level education to become licensed interior design practitioners. The focus of this program is on the development of the ability to formulate, propose, and carryout design solutions in a safe, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing way. Admission to the MFA – Professional Level program requires formal acceptance and submission of a portfolio demonstrating the applicant’s creative abilities in the fine or applied arts, or the successful completion of a NYSID qualifying workshop prior to matriculation.This 90 credit MFA degree requires full-time study and is composed of 81 professional credits and 9 elective credits offering both seminar and studio courses in art and design history, graphic communication, technical skills and knowledge, professional practice, and interior design studios. Of the 90 credits required for the MFA degree, a minimum of 60 credits must be taken at NYSID all of which must be in required professional courses. Only 500 level courses may be satisfied by transfer credit. The residency requirement includes Interior Design III, IV, V and VI, MFA Thesis Preparation, MFA Thesis, and Senior Seminar. In combination with the required professional experience, the curriculum satisfies the educational requirements for membership in national and local interior design associations and allows graduates to sit for qualifying exams for interior design certification in many jurisdictions.

This architecture was designed by Diamond and Schmitt Architects, the Computer Science and Engineering building that located in Michigan, United States accommodates faculty offices, research labs, and teaching spaces on the North Campus of the University of Michigan. The building is set into a slope that serves to link the upper level at the north of the site with the lower level some 30 feet below. Two classrooms, a computer lab, and a range of building services are set into the slope, sheltered by the earth, which acts as a thermal governor, reducing the demand on mechanical systems to moderate temperature.

In addition, setting portions of the building into the slope reduces the mass of the building on the site. A series of terraced courtyards soften the slope, providing landscaped gardens. A brise-soliel ‘grid’ on the exterior walls, along with an associated glass shade, substantially reduce the solar energy striking the building, reducing the demand for cooling. The 102,000 square foot structure meets the needs of approximately 900 undergraduates, 300 graduate students, and 51 faculty members. It includes computing labs, classrooms (60 seat and 120 seat), conference rooms, and student project space. State-of-the-art wired and wireless telecommunications and technology capabilities, all with inherent future flexibility, are provided in labs for Advanced Computer Architecture, Software Systems and Real Time Theory as well as Artificial Intelligence.

An ‘open projects’ space has been created in the building to allow for robotics, mobile computing and security experimentation. High indoor environmental quality is a key feature of the building. Each office is placed on the perimeter of the building, is naturally lit, and has an operable window. Daylight is into the building by using transom windows in corridors, and through the extensive placement of skylights that cover a four-storey atrium space and a long linear stair. The addition of the skylights allows spaces on the interior of the building to benefit from natural light.

Ini adalah contoh hasil pengerjaan Rumah Type 180 Custom milik pak Bagus Ariawan. Dari beberapa foto diatas (diambil menggunakan kamera HP saja hasilnya sudah begitu bagus apalagi kalo pake Kamera beneran..he3) dapat dilihat detail kerapian pengerjaan bangunan. Bangunan ini menggunakan pemasangan banyak kaca pada dinding agar bangunan terkesan luas dan view sawah yang terbentang di sekitar rumah terlihat dengan jelas dan indah. 

Dengan demikian maka kami tidak hanya memperlihatkan desain yang tampak indah tetapi benar-benar mengutamakan detail dan hasil akhir bangunan agar tampak seindah gambar 3 dimensinya.

One of a Kind English Country Style Home in Blowing Rock

Let me start by stating that I don't write blogs about listings too too often (and this one isn't even mine). In this case I felt compelled to at least post a few pictures of this "cute as a button" home for sale down Hwy 221 just outside of Blowing Rock.

"Winterhaven" has been featured in Southern Living Magazine four times and it's easy to see why.
No stone is left unturned when it comes to the architectural design or the aesthetic details. Entering through the stone columns and down the short driveway you will be amazed by the beautifully detailed white brick home with matching garden cottage set around a landscaped circular drive.

When you walk through the door, you feel like you've stepped back in time and yet the home still has all of the modern finishes that you would expect from a home of this caliber.

This home has so many quaint features: from the arched windows, slipper claw foot tubs and glass knobs on all of the doors, to the detailed nooks and crannies and gourmet kitchen. The home sits on a level estate lot of 7.75 acres looking out over Grandfather Mountain.

Winterhaven evokes a feeling of romance that is hard to describe. A place where the past and present are seamlessly fused to create into one feeling of home.

'Jubah Ruang-Waktu' untuk Menyembunyikan Peristiwa

Sebuah studi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti dari Imperial College London mengembangkan satu lagi klasifikasi baru dari materi yaitu "metamaterials", yang dapat direkayasa secara artifisial untuk "membelokkan" cahaya ataupun gelombang suara. Dengan bahan konvensional, cahaya biasanya hanya bergerak pada sepanjang garis lurus, tetapi dengan metamaterials, ilmuwan dapat memanfaatkan banyak fleksibilitas tambahan, diantaranya untuk menciptakan "blind spot" (titik buta) yang tidak terdeteksi. Dengan mengalihkan bagian-bagian tertentu dari spektrum elektromagnetik, sebuah gambar dapat diubah atau dibuat agar terlihat seperti menghilang.

Sebelumnya, tim yang dipimpin oleh Professor Sir John Pendry di Imperial College London menunjukkan bahwa metamaterials dapat digunakan untuk membuat sebuah jubah optik tembus pandang. Sekarang, tim yang dipimpin oleh Professor Martin McCall secara matematis telah mengembangkan ide lain, yaitu jubah yang tidak hanya menyembunyikan objek akan tetapi juga "menyembunyikan peristiwa".

"Cahaya biasanya melambat pada saat memasuki materi, tetapi secara teori anda dapat memanipulasi sinar cahaya sehingga beberapa bagian mempercepat dan lainnya memperlambat," kata McCall, dari Departemen Fisika di Imperial College London. Ketika cahaya 'dipancarkan' dengan cara ini, tidak hanya melengkung didalam ruang, setengah bagian yang terdepan dengan kecepatan cahaya lebih dulu tiba sebelum 'peristiwa', sedangkan setengah terakhir-nya dibuat untuk tertinggal di belakang dan datang terlambat. Hasilnya adalah bahwa untuk periode singkat "peristiwa" tidak mendapatkan "cahaya", dan pemantauan-pun telah "luput". Dan ketika tahap "perjalanan tersembunyi" telah digunakan, jubah akan 'tertutup' kembali dengan mulus.

Seperti sebuah jubah ruang-waktu yang akan membuka sebuah koridor sementara melalui energi, dimana informasi dan materi bisa dimanipulasi atau diangkut tanpa terdeteksi. " Seperti seseorang yang berpindah disepanjang koridor, maka ia akan muncul pada pengamat jauh seolah-olah orang tersebut telah pindah seketika, ini seperti menciptakan ilusi transporter ala Star-Trek," kata McCall. "Jadi, secara teoritis, orang yang telah melakukan sesuatu dan anda sama sekali tidak melihatnya!"

Sementara ini penggunaan jubah ruang-waktu untuk membuat orang bergerak tanpa terdeteksi masih fiksi ilmiah, ada cukup banyak usaha serius untuk melakukan penelitian-penelitian yang masih tergolong baru ini, diantaranya yang didanai oleh Teknik dan Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) dan Leverhulme Trust. Peneliti (kolaborasi) Dr Paul Kinsler mengembangkan bukti dari desain konsep penggunaan serat optik yang disesuaikan, dimana akan memungkinkan para peneliti untuk menggunakan jubah "peristiwa" dalam pemrosesan sinyal dan komputasi. Saluran data yang diberikan misalnya akan mengalami interupsi untuk meningkatkan perhitungan prioritas pada saluran paralel selama operasi jubah. Setelah itu, ia akan muncul ke bagian luar dari sirkuit seolah-olah channel asli telah memproses informasi terus-menerus, sehingga mencapai 'interupsi-tanpa-interupsi'.

Alberto Favaro, yang juga bekerja pada proyek itu menjelaskan: "Bayangkan data komputer bergerak didalam saluran seperti jalan raya yang penuh dengan mobil. Lalu anda ingin seorang pejalan kaki menyeberang tanpa mengganggu lalu lintas, sehingga anda memperlambat mobil yang hampir mencapai penyeberangan, sedangkan mobil yang berada di luar penyeberangan bisa dipercepat dimana akan menciptakan celah di tengah untuk pejalan kaki yang menyeberang. Sementara pengamat di jalan hanya akan melihat aliran lalu lintas.. ". Pada intinya apa yang mereka perhitungkan adalah untuk mempercepat data yang ditransmisikan tanpa melanggar hukum relativitas. Favaro menyelesaikan ini dengan menyusun bahan cerdas yang sifatnya bervariasi dalam ruang dan waktu, sehingga memungkinkan nantinya untuk terwujudnya jubah ini.

"Kami yakin bahwa akan ada banyak kemungkinan 'lain' yang nantinya bakal terbuka oleh pengenalan kita tentang konsep jubah ruang-waktu," kata McCall, "tapi karena masih teoritis, maka pada tahap ini kita masih perlu sedikit kerja keras dalam menyusun rincian konkrit untuk usaha penelitian yang kami ajukan."

Metamaterials adalah pengembangan dari bidang sains, dengan cakupan yang luas dan potensial, dari mulai bidang pertahanan, keamanan, obat-obatan, transfer data dan komputasi. Banyak sekali perangkat rumah tangga yang bekerja menggunakan medan elektromagnetik akan bisa dibuat lebih murah atau dapat bekerja pada kecepatan yang lebih tinggi. Metamaterials juga bisa digunakan untuk mengontrol jenis gelombang sebagaimana cahaya, seperti gelombang suara atau air, seperti sebagai pelindung instalasi pantai atau lepas pantai, atau bahkan bangunan rekayasa untuk menahan gelombang gempa.

Casas modernas: Plano de Casa de 2 pisos, 3 dormitorios y 204 metros cuadrados

El plano de hoy tiene 3 dormitorios, pero bien podría tener 4 y hasta 5 habitaciones sin ningún problema. Es muy interesante que mas halla de su superficie enorme entra en prácticamente cualquier tipo de terreno (la casa en si mide 6 metros de ancho por 17 metros de largo). Incluso sirve perfectamente para terrenos entre medianeras, de esos típicos en Latinoamérica.

En la planta baja tenemos living, cocina, comedor, todo conectado. Un pequeño baño social y el dormitorio principal con baño en suite y walk in closet.

En la planta alta tenemos dos habitaciones y el baño principal. Ademas cuenta con un espacio “loft” algo así como una zona de estar para los que duermen en el piso superior. Cabe destacar que hay otro espacio abierto hacia la zona de abajo. Es a estos dos ultimos lugares a los que me refiero que pueden hacer 1 o 2 habitaciones mas.
